UN Sec Gen Condemns ‘Hateful’ Anti-Islam Movie

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has denounced as “hateful” an anti-Islam movie produced in the United States.

The UN chief issued a statement on Thursday, condemning the “hateful film that appears to have been deliberately designed to sow bigotry and bloodshed.”
The statement added that the secretary general “is deeply disturbed by the recent violence in Libya and elsewhere in the Middle East.”
On September 11, demonstrators in Libya attacked the US consulate building in the city of Benghazi, protesting against the movie, named Innocence of Muslims. US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three staff members were killed in the incident.
In Yemen, four protesters were killed by security forces in the capital, Sana’a, during a similar demonstration outside the US embassy on September 13.
Outrage is growing across the Muslim world over the $5-million movie that was financed by more than 100 Zionist Jews.
Protests are scheduled to be held across the Muslim world after Friday prayers.
On Thursday, similar demonstrations were also held in several countries, including Egypt, Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The angry protesters demanded that Washington apologize to the Muslim world over the release of the movie.
