TEHRAN (IQNA) – It's Interfaith Week at the University of North Dakota in the US, but Tuesday's two events related to Islam were added in wake of US President Donald Trump's travel ban to seven predominantly Muslim countries.

Interfaith Week at UND adds events to support Muslim community

In wake of the recent turbulent times for Muslims and students from Islamic countries, the two events were held on campus Tuesday to better understand the religion.

The first was a luncheon, which gave students an opportunity to sit, eat, and learn about faith perspectives of their fellow Muslim students.

The second event was a webinar about how to support Muslim students and staff during these turbulent times.

Ammar Khudari, Muslim UND student said, "Being a Muslim in America, it's totally fine to be here. But when I first came here I was in culture shock because there are not a lot of Muslims in Grand Forks especially. But during the years I've found a lot more Muslims coming to study here and everyone here is friendly and we live in peace with each other."

Interfaith Week continues with events all week at UND.
