TEHRAN (IQNA) – The second international conference on tourism and spirituality will kick off in the Iranian capital of Tehran tomorrow.

According to Imani Khoshkhu, secretary of the conference, Reza Davari Ardakani, member of Iran’s Academy of Sciences, and a Sorbonne University professor will be the keynote speakers at the opening ceremony.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, he said 120 papers have been submitted to the secretariat of the conference, 25 of which will be presented at the two-day event.

According to Khoshkhu, an English language magazine named Tourism and Spirituality will also be unveiled at the two-day conference.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said from a spiritual perspective, tourism is a sacred phenomenon as tourists find signs of the Creator on earth in their trips.

Khoshkhu went on to say that the conference will seek to explain the relation between tourism and spirituality.

The First International Conference on Tourism and Spirituality was held in January 2016 with the aim of examining the concept of spirituality in tourism.

It brought together leading researchers, academics, practitioners, policy-makers, industry and government officials in the field from around the world to present their work, ideas, and practical experiences on the state of tourism and spirituality.
