TEHRAN (IQNA) – The public relations officer of the 25th Tehran International Quran Exhibition said more than 1.2 million people visited the Quranic event.

Seyed Mehdi Jafari said the number has been assessed based on the number of cars and buses that entered the venue of the expo and the number of people arriving from the two nearby subway stations.

The international exhibition was held at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla from May 29 to June 16 with the motto of "Quran, Ethics and Life”.

Jafari further said more than 40 Iranian and foreign media outlets covered the events of the exhibition, according to IRNA.

The international Quran expo, the largest Quranic event in the Muslim world, is annually organized by the Iranian culture ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy during the holy month of Ramadan.

Showcasing the latest Quranic achievements and products aimed at developing the Quranic culture, the exhibition seeks to promote the Quran in society and help people get more aquatinted with the Holy Book.
