Iran Congratulates Christians on Christmas

In a message released on Sunday, Qassemi congratulated Christians, especially Iranian Christians, and all other monotheists across the world on the auspicious occasion and the arrival of new year.

He added that in a world where war, aggression, poverty and injustice have gripped nations more than ever, a return to the thoughts and teachings of Jesus (AS) as a manifestation of tolerance, patience and fortitude will promise a revival of human spirit.

Qassemi also expressed confidence that with the elimination of the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group, the world will be a more secure and beautiful place for all Christians.

He went on to hope that the new year will see increased cooperation and partnership on the path to enhancement of peace, security, and friendship in the world.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had felicitated Christians on the advent of Christmas.

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
