More than 5,000 Women Register for Quran Contest in Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – As many as 5,322 women and girls have signed up for participation in a nationwide Quran contest in Iran.

 

 

The competition is annually organized by Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center.

Morteza Najafi Qodsi, an official with the center, said most of those who have registered for the contest will compete in the category of memorization of the Quran.

He added that Tehran province has the highest number of contenders (1,202), followed by the provinces of Isfahan (1,026), Qom (646) and Qazvin (290).

The 12th edition of the contest for women is slated for December 15-21 in the holy city of Qom.

It will be held in different categories like Quran recitation, memorization (different levels) and Tarteel.
