Tunisia Int’l Quran Contest: Winners to Be Awarded Thursday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Performances of the last group of contenders in Tunisia’s 16th international Quran competition ended on Tuesday.

 

According to the journalistesfaxien website, 7 Quran reciters, namely representatives of Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Indonesia, Libya, Tunisia and Lebanon, were the last group of participants who showcased their talents on Tuesday.

In the category of memorization, the last contender was from the United Arab Emirates.

The competition, named after Allamah Bin Arafah, got underway in the city of Carthage on Saturday.

The closing ceremony will be held on Thursday morning and winners of the two categories will be announced an awarded.

Iran’s representative in the international Quranic event is Mohammad Hassan Movahedi, who competed in the category of recitation.

Iranian memorizer of the entire Quran Mohammad Javad Moradi had also been scheduled to compete in the category of memorization, but he could not make it to Tunisia on time due to some problems.
