New Dome of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine to Be Taken to Iraq Soon

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A new dome for the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) that has been built in Iran will be taken to Iraq soon, an official said.

 

Hamzeh Ebadi, the public relations officer of the Headquarters for Reconstruction of Atabat (holy shrines in Iraq), told IQNA that the dome, which is 7.5 meters tall, will be unveiled soon and thhen taken to Iraq to be installed in Karbala.

He also referred to the plans for development of holy mausoleum of Imam Hussein (AS) and said a new Sahn (courtyard) named after Hazrat Zeynab (SA) is being built there that will be launched in four years’ time.

Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala is visited by millions of Shia Muslim pilgrims and other devotees every year.
