Strong Earthquake Hits NW Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale hit Iran’s northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Friday morning.

 

At least five people were killed and more than 300 others injured when the strong tremor hit an area near the city of Tark, around 120km from the provincial capital Tabriz, at 2:17 a.m. local time.
