20-Day Quran Competition Underway in UAE

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary stage of the 23rd edition of Sharjah Holy Quran and Sunnah Award has been underway since November 7.

 

According to WAM news agency, the 20-day national Quranic event has been held for 1732 male and female Quran memorizers and reciters.

The Quran and Sunnah Institute of Sharjah holds the annual competition, which has been received very well by a large number of Quran activists this year.

The participants compete in 10 categories of Quran memorization, 5 Quran recitation categories and 3 categories for the disabled.

Omar Al-Shamesi, director of the institute said that a fund of one million Dirhams has been specified to be awarded to the top winners.

He added that the competition in the categories of Quran and Hadith is supervised electronically.
