Quran Memorizers of Astan Hazrat Abdul Azim Honored
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held at the holy mausoleum of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) in Shahr Rey, south of Tehran, to honor the Quran memorizers of the shrine’s Astan (custodianship).
A number of Quranic and religious officials, including the head of the Astan, Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri and Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy Abdul Hadi Feqhizadeh attded the ceremony on Monday.
Those who were honored at the event have managed to memorize the entire Quran by taking courses offered by the Astan’s Quran Teaching Center.
Abdul Azim Hassani (AS), also known as Shah Abdol Azim, was a fifth generation descendant of Imam Hassan ibn Ali (AS) and a companion of Imam Muhammad Taqi (AS).
His holy shrine in Rey hosts thousands of visitors every day.
