TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran recitation festival annually held in Iran will be organized internationally starting this year.

The 15th edition of the Ceremonial Recitations Festival will be held virtually with the participation of Qaris from different countries, organizers said.

Qaris from Muslim and non-Muslim countries can take part in this edition by submitting their recitations.

The call for participation has been announced recently and 29 Qaris from countries like Lebanon, Mauritania, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, Australia, Germany, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have already submitted their recitations.

The deadline for submissions is February 30, 2021, said Davoud Jafari, secretary general of the festival’s 15th edition.

Only men aged 18 and more can take part in the competition and the duration of their submitted recitation should not be more than 4 minutes, he noted.

Those willing to take part in the festival can send their recitation along with a photo of their passport to ftffestival۲۰۲۰@gmail.com.

After initial assessments, those qualified will be asked to send a second recitation.

The best recitations will be uploaded in the festival’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and five top contenders will then be selected by popular vote.

The top winners will be awarded cash prizes, according to the official.
