Educational Workshop for Quranic Institutes Opens in Yemen

TEHRAN (IQNA) - An educational workshop on “Role of Quranic Institutes in Promoting Moderation in the Youth” began on January 18 in Yemen.

 According to yemenakhbar website, the workshop was organized by the Quran Memorization Section of Yemen’s Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance.

The program aims to identify talents, promote capabilities of Quran institutes’ directors, develop the level of Quranic education and training among the youth, investigate problems and limitations in Quran teaching and find solutions for the problems.
Increasing the directors’ awareness and providing an opportunity for exchange of experience among Quranic centers of the country to enhance their function in scientific aspects and promote education based on the Holy Quran are among the objectives of the workshop.
The opening ceremony of the five-day workshop was attended by Abdullatif Abdulrahim, deputy of Yemeni Minister of Awqaf, Muhammad Al-Ashwal, representative of Haj and Umrah Section of the ministry, Najib Al-‘Aji, representative of the ministry’s Investment Section as well as a number of its officials.
Addressing the ceremony, Fuad ‘Umar Ibn Al-Shaikh Abubakr, the minister, stressed the need for training the youth based on the moral teachings of the Holy Quran in order to deal with today’s crises.
He further noted that such workshops show how much importance the ministry attaches to the teachings of the Divine Book and training a pious generation based on Quranic principles and values.
Representative of the Quran Memorization Section of the ministry also delivered a speech at the program and stressed the need for acting upon Quranic values.
