Speaking to IQNA, Zeinab Adnan Muhammad Hassan described the success as a blessing from God.

"I dedicate this success to my country, Iraq, and to the brave fighters of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi who are defending us in the battlefields against the enemies,” she said.

The Hashd al-Shaabi forces have made great contributions to Iraq’s accomplishments in the fight against Takfiri terrorist group Daesh (ISIL or ISIS).

She further described the competition as a very good Quranic event, saying it was attended by very qualified contenders.

Zeinab, who is from the holy city of Karbala, south of Iraq, said she started memorizing the Quran at the age of 13 and managed to learn the entire Quran by heart in a short time.

This week, Iran hosted five international Quran competitions, including those for women, school students, seminary students and the visually-impaired.

Over 270 Quran activists from 83 countries took part in the Quranic events.
