Educational Session at Expo to Feature Quranic Maqams

An educational session is scheduled to be held at the 22nd Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition featuring 'Quranic Maqams'.

Maqams are melodic modes used by reciters of the Holy Quran.

The session, aiming to discuss new methods for teaching Maqams, is slated for Thursday, July 3, at 9:30 P.M.

It will be attended by prominent Iranian Quran recite Ali Asqar Shoaei, who won the first rank last year in a competition on the best Quran teaching methods.

He has also produced a CD named "Quranic Melodies" in which the Quranic Maqams are taught in a new interesting way.

The CD, which has been presented at the Quran Exhibit, also contains Quran and Adhan (call to prayers) recitations by prominent Qaris of the Muslim world.

The 22nd International Quran Exhibition welcomes visitors everyday from 7 P.M. to midnight until July 13.
