Quranic Course for Teenagers Concludes in Najaf

TEHRAN (IQNA) - An educational Quranic course titled “Imam Hadi (AS)”, which was held for Iraqi teenagers, concluded on April 5 in the holy city of Najaf.


According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine, the 9-month course was held by the Dar-ol-Quran Al-Karim Center affiliated to the religious affairs section of the Astan.

60 students who completed the course were awarded certificates in a closing ceremony held at the courtyard of the holy shrine.

Heidar Al-Mayali, Quran expert and a teacher of the course, said that Quranic Maqamat (styles of Quran recitation), Tajweed principles and techniques of strengthening laryngeal muscles for better Quran  recitation were among the themes of the course.

Teenagers aged between 8 to 14 participated in the course held with the aim of raising a generation of young Quran reciters.

He added that the center plans to continue the Quranic program in the form of specialized courses on the rules of Quran reading, Waqf and Ibtida, etc. for other age groups.

A number of students of the Dar-ol-Quran Center who succeeded to memorize some Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran were also awarded on the sidelines of the ceremony.
