TEHRAN (IQNA) – Tarteel recitation of the Quran will be performed every day during the holy month of Ramadan at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani in Rey, south of Tehran.

Prominent Iranian Qaris will do the Tarteel recitation at the mausoleum every day after Noon and Asr prayers.

Unlike previous years, there will not be any pilgrims attending the recitation program because the holy shrine, like others in Iran, is closed to visitors due to the coronavirus outbreak.

But the program will be broadcast on Channel 5 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and those interested can watch it live.

Abdul Azim Hassani(AS), also known as Shah Abdol Azim, was a fifth generation descendant of Imam Hassan ibn Ali (AS) and a companion of Imam Muhammad Taqi (AS). His mausoleum is usually visited by thousands of pilgrims everyday but these days it is closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar in which Muslim all around the world fast from dawn to sunset. In Iran it began on Saturday.
