Iran’s Top Quranic Competition Enters Final Stage

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 44th edition of the national Quran competition in Iran kicked off entered its final stage on Monday night.

 

This is the most prestigious Quranic competition of Iran at the national level which is being organized annually by the country’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.

More than 200 individuals have made it to the final round of the contest and will compete in seven categories in the men’s and five categories in women’s section.

On the first night of the final round, 17 contestants went on stage in different categories.

Three qaris in tahqiq recitation, three in tarteel recitation, three in memorization of 20 Juzes (Parts), and three in memorization of the entire Quran delivered their performance before the panel of judges and audience. Furthemore, two groups performed choral recitation.

The competition is scheduled in a manner that the performances can be broadcast live from national TV and Radio channels.

Winners of the event will be named as Iran’s representatives in the upcoming international Quran competitions across the world.

The contest is also aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
