Details of 3rd Imam Reza Int’l Media Festival Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The secretariat of the Imam Reza International Media Festival has announced the details of the 3rd edition of the event.

Mohsen Hooshmand, an official with Astan Quds Razavi, provided information about the third edition of the festival that focuses on Imam Reza (AS), the third Shia Imam.

He said that the Astan tries its best to prepare the ground so that all those who are interested in producing content about Imam Reza (AS) could do so and offer their products.

Some 600 individuals with 2,498 works participated in the first edition of the event while the second edition saw more than 1,000 participants with 3,130 works, he said.

The international section of this year has no limitation with regard to language, he stressed.

Festivals’ Goals

• Qualitative and quantitative promotion of media products with Razavi (attributed to Imam Reza (AS)) themes
• Identifying and interacting with producers and distributors of media contents related to Razavi culture and conduct
• Developing media products related to Razavi conduct through modern media
• Networking and supporting creators of Razavi media works
• Deepening media contents related to the Razavi conduct and teachings

Festival Themes and Topics

• Razavi conduct: Examining different representations of Imam Reza’s culture and teachings in media products with an emphasis on the relationship between fundamental concepts and modern-day issues with Razavi teachings particularly on Islamic Revolution, Jihad of Clarification, dialogue, morality and interaction, resistance, devotion and ethics.
• Pilgrims and Razavi pilgrimage: Elaboration, commemoration and representation of effects of Razavi pilgrimage  among those who perform in-person or virtual pilgrimage with an emphasis on world campaign of Wednesdays with Imam Reza (AS)
• Razavi endowment and donation: Examination of endowments and donations made for Imam Reza (AS) and encouraging people to make the move more popular
• Razavi service: Explanation and examination of the concept of generous service in Razavi conduct; rendering service to the needy in the name of Imam Reza (AS) and representation of the serving character of Razavi servants such as martyred General Soleimani
• Jihad of Clarification: Status of Jihad of Clarification in words and deeds of Infallible Imams (AS) especially Imam Reza (AS); tangible explanation of Imams’ procedures of this Jihad in current era.

All participants are required to visit the festival's website and complete registration form first.

Links of the works related to the news reports and social networks have to be shared on the festival website.

Documentaries, TV programs, short films, and video music can be sent in two different ways if files are heavy to upload

Deadline for submission: 4^th of Muhrram, 1444 (July 22, 2023)

Closing date and announcement of selected works: Rabi al-Awal of 1444 (October 2023)

General Conditions for Participation

• Observing all general and particular requirements of the event, participants are required to send or submit their works to the Secretariat according to the schedule.
• Notifications of the festival, information on registration process and submission of works are all available on the website of the festival’s Secretariat at mediafest.razavi.ir.
• Works published in news agencies and social networks between March 21, 2021 (7th of Sha’aban 1442) and July 22, 2022 (4th of Moharram 1444) will be qualified for festival competition.
• Participants are required to fill out personal and media profile form of the creator along with that of the work on the festival’s official website.
• Works sent to the festival’s Secretariat shall be accepted only from the creator or legal owner of the work.
• Works in non-Persian languages are also acceptable to the festival.
• To be selected as a top work and to get top ranks, creators and owners of works are required to trust the panel of judges and accept their decisions. 
• The review criteria will be announced by the Scientific Board of the festival later on.
• Submitted works will never be returned to their creators.
• Taking all the intellectual rights of the creator into account, the Secretariat of the festival is authorized to use selected works in its informative and religious events.
• Works with incomplete specifications will be disqualified for competition.
• Decision regarding unforeseen issues will be a responsibility of the festival’s Secretariat.
• All works have to be in line with at least one theme or topic of the festival.
• Works with no relation to the themes and topics of the festival will be disqualified.
• Works submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed.
• The jury is selected and supervised by Astan Quds Razavi Media and Communication Center.
• Filling out participation form along with the work file or access link is mandatory.
• Participants must follow news and developments of the festival with utmost sincerity.
• A selection of works will be published and the Secretariat is free to select which work to publish from among submitted works.
• Exhibiting selected works, putting them in public display, and holding workshops as well as meetings are some sideline programs of the festival; the time and place of each program will be announced later on the website of the festival’s Secretariat.
• Official website of the festival is open for any proposal and comments.

Specific Conditions for Participation

A. Documentary, video music, short film, and clip

1. Works of this section must be in common formatsand in good quality.
2. Works of this section must be based on festival’s themes and topics.
3. Duration of short films must be at least 100 seconds and 15 minutes at most.

B. Social networks accounts

1. Link of the social network must be mentioned in the registration form.
2. Full personal info of the manager or managers have to be mentioned at the time of registration.

C. News reports, TV programs

1. Works of this section must have been posted or aired in a satellite or social network sometime between March 21, 2021 (7^thof Sha’aban 1442) and July 22, 2022 (4^th of Muharram 1444).

D. Article, Thesis, and Dissertation

1. Title of the paper, first and last names of the author/authors based on the correct alphabetical order, scientific rank of the authors must be written on the first page.
2. Main components articles in order: Title page, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, findings, discussion and results, references, English Abstract for non-English language papers.
3. Title of the article should be brief and in at most 15 words.
4. Original copy of the article must be sent through the website of the festival’s Secretariat.
5. PhD and MA graduates of last five years who have defended their theses in topics related to production, distribution and evaluation of media contents related to Razavi teachings are allowed to participate in the event.
6. Applicants should send the abstract and full text of their theses in the form of a pdf file through the website of the festival’s Secretariat.
