TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Shah Cheragh mausoleum will host a Quranic circle on Wednesday evening in commemoration of those martyred in a terrorist attack at the holy site last week.

Shah Cheragh holy shrine in Shiraz

Internationally acclaimed Quran reciter Hamid Reza Ahmadivafa and a number of top qaris from Fars Province will recite the Holy Quran at the program.

It will start after Maghrib and Isha prayers this evening at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Shabestan (prayer hall) of the holy shrine.

A memorial service for the martyrs will also be organized at the mausoleum on Thursday.

Shah Cheragh is a funerary monument and mosque in Shiraz, housing the tomb of Ahmad and Muhammad, the sons of Imam Musa Kadhim (AS), the seventh Shia Imam.

It is the most important pilgrimage center of Shiraz in Iran’s southern province of Fars.

Shah Cheragh literally means (the Shrine of) the lord of the light.

Last Wednesday just before the evening prayers, an armed man stormed Shah Cheragh.

The terrorist started shooting indiscriminately at pilgrims. Scores were martyred and injured during the assault.

The Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
